DC Design Update, Aug. 9

Have we mentioned how much we love good design? From modern exteriors to space-efficient interiors, we love getting to explore homes each and every day.

Here’s some of the design-related news and updates that caught our eye lately.

DC Design House? Mais, Oui! The 2016 DC design house is 2509 Foxhall Rd. former residence of the French Ambassador. Twenty designers will transform the 9th Annual DC Design House. The public tours starting in October will be $35 which benefits Children’s National Health System.

The Secret is Out. Architecture Digest runs through a list of design shops in DC, many of which are our go-to for high-design elements for homes, from fixtures to furniture. Want more suggestions? Oh, we’ve got them, just ask.

Built to Scale. Geek for architecture and process? The District Architecture Center has an exhibit on scale models now through Sept. 18. Check out more than 30 juried study and presentation models of working projects, completed projects, and theoretical projects.

Can we brag a minute? Our U Street Penthouse at Atlantic Plumbin–you know, the Morris Adjmi-designed building just north of Florida–is just stunning. There’s no other way to describe it. Check it out if you missed our previous post.
