DC United, Washington’s Major League Soccer Team (MLS), is closer to bringing its vision for a brand new soccer stadium at Buzzard Point to reality. The team recently selected NY-based Turner Construction, the company behind Yankee Stadium and Green Bay’s Lambeau Field’s redevelopment, The Washington Business Journal reports.

The plan is for the new $300 million DC United Soccer Stadium to be ready for the 2018 season. A spokesperson for the soccer team told WBJ that with demolition on site well underway since April and the new contractor on-board, vertical construction could begin by the end of 2016.
